As we all know this year has been full of ups and downs and seems to be continuing to do so. It has been a while since I have written an update so thought it was about time I did, as a few things have happened over the past few months. The most exciting and probably most unexpected of which, was that I managed to compete in two tournaments in September and October.
Both of these events were in France and I have to say it felt great to be back competing again after such a long time. I was really pleased with my performances in both events and really enjoyed being back on the Wheelchair Tennis Tour again.
I was hoping to have played in a couple more tournaments before the end of this year in either Europe or Turkey, but unfortunately this hasn’t been made possible due to some events been cancelled and the health risks of travelling to others. Nevertheless I’m so pleased I managed to compete in a couple of events before the year comes to a close. It is strange to think that this year I have competed in only four tournaments in total, when usually I play in approximately 20, a very different year indeed.
I am now in a training block for the rest of this year and beginning of 2021, with the hope that I will resume travelling to compete in February next year.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support throughout this strange year, as well as those who continue to support me on and off the court into my final year of my tennis career. Sending love and my thoughts out to everyone in these challenging times, please keep safe and well. Louise x
