MY BOOK
Louise Hunt Skelley isn’t your typical athlete – or your typical anything. A Paralympian with a fierce will to win, Louise has spent her life defying expectations, smashing stereotypes, and challenging the world to keep up. In What’s Wrong With You?, she shares her unfiltered journey from a rebellious schoolgirl to a world-class wheelchair tennis player.
This is more than a memoir; it’s a manifesto for anyone tired of being told they can’t. With wit, grit, and a no-nonsense attitude, Louise reveals the struggles and triumphs that have shaped her, all while refusing to let society’s narrow definitions hold her back.
Filled with humour, resilience, and the kind of wisdom you only gain from going against the grain, What’s Wrong With You? will inspire you to embrace your own story, stand tall, and never take ‘no’ for an answer.

Reviews
Louise’s honesty throughout this book is so freshing! I love how she takes you so closely on her journey through so many highs and lows. Her ambition is infectious and I also found it really cool how up to date the book is, with it talking about moments as recent as weeks ago!
This memoir felt like a jolt of lightning. It was a refreshing hard hitting look into the world of disability and all the highs and lows experienced both professionally and personally. It was really poignant in places but equally hilarious in others and the juxtaposition of both makes Louise’s voice fly off the page! She doesn’t shy away from controversy and her transparency on her truth feels very brave. This book will educate readers on disability, accessibility and it’s cruel reality of living in a word that doesn’t quite understand. Books like these pave the way to help society understand and whilst being wonderfully joyous and hopeful to read, it was also very moving and an important reading experience.
A great read. All the way through it is honest, a clear insight into Louise’s perspective of how she has both felt and delt with both good and bad situations through her life.
I like the way she explains how using mobility aids for whatever reason is to ‘enhance’ a persons quality of life.
I feel any parent starting a journey bringing up a child with a disability of any kind would find it helpful and interesting, especially as it makes you thing of what ‘your child’ maybe thinking and feeling, which is probably a little different to yourself.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, and would recommended it
Understanding life from another perspective is always both uplifting and informative; you may see something one way, but someone else may see it another and that’s exactly what this book is. Another perspective on life!
Seeing a life come alive through written word is always quite something but the way Louise Hunt Skelley has taken us on a journey through her life is empowering, motivating and emotional. Through the highs, lows and friendships of life, Louise’s words will open up a world you never knew imaginable!
